FLUORESCENT ADOLESCENT

Re: “Normal”

I don’t get why most celebrities and influential people feel the need to portray themselves as “just like you and me” — you know, allowing themselves to be photographed taking their children to school, eating ice cream in their pajamas, doing their groceries — when clearly they are not, or at least, not anymore. By trying so hard to stay grounded, they actually appear more smug. I mean, it’s really okay to not be like everyone else if that’s really who you are.

“Normal,” whatever that means, is so overrated. I prefer extraordinary individuals. Just embrace your greatness, if you worked hard for it.
